At Chptr, we are proud to work with team members who approach their craft with care, intention, and a deep understanding of the impact their work can have on others.

One of them is Javier "Javi" Albor, the creative behind all of our video content, whose role centers on creating memorial films that help families reflect, remember, and stay connected to the people they’ve lost. His work lives at the intersection of storytelling and service, where small details and thoughtful choices come together to create something lasting.

Through his approach, Javi brings a quiet focus to the idea that how someone is remembered matters, and that even subtle elements can shape the way a story is felt over time.

“Helping share stories that truly matter to people means a lot to me. Knowing that what I’m working on can become part of how someone is remembered gives a deeper purpose to everything I do.”

- Javi Albor, Video Editor

What does it mean to you to create something that becomes part of a family’s long-term memory?

It means a lot to me. Helping shape something that becomes part of a family’s long-term memory is a responsibility I take very seriously. These are moments people will come back to, sometimes for years, and being part of that process carries a lot of weight.

I try to approach every project with care and respect, knowing that it’s not just about putting something together, it’s about helping preserve how someone is remembered.

What’s something that takes a significant amount of time or care that would be invisible to someone watching the final film?

A lot of the time goes into the small details that most people would never consciously notice. Things like carefully pacing each moment, adjusting transitions so they feel natural, or making sure the music and visuals are perfectly in sync. There’s also a lot of attention put into selecting the right images and how they’re presented, so everything flows in a way that feels meaningful. It’s subtle work, but all of those decisions come together to shape how the story is experienced, even if the viewer isn’t aware of it.

What do you hope families feel the first time they watch one of your films?

I hope they feel a sense of comfort and connection. More than anything, I hope it helps them remember and reflect on the life that was lived, not just the loss. If it can bring even a small moment of peace, or make them feel closer to the person they’ve lost, then it’s doing what it’s meant to do. Ultimately, I want it to feel meaningful, respectful, and something they can come back to over time.

Has this role changed how you personally think about loss, memory, or the way people are remembered?

Yes, it definitely has. Working in this space has made me more aware of how important it is to preserve and share memories, and how each detail can shape the way someone is remembered. It’s also given me a deeper appreciation for the impact these moments have on people over time. It’s not just about loss, but about legacy and how stories continue to live on, which has changed the way I think about memory in a much more meaningful and intentional way.

How do you see your approach to creating these films evolving as Chptr continues to grow?

As Chptr continues to grow, I see my approach evolving in a way that keeps the same level of care and intention, but becomes more refined and consistent. The goal is to keep improving how we tell these stories while making the process more efficient and scalable, without losing the human side of it. As we grow, I think it’s about finding that balance between quality and reach, so we can help more people while still creating something that feels personal and meaningful every time.

Final Thoughts

Javi’s perspective reflects a steady focus on care, detail, and the lasting impact of memory. His work is often experienced in quiet moments, but it carries significant meaning for the families who return to it over time.

At Chptr, that level of intention matters. Memorial films are more than a final product, they are part of how stories are preserved and shared. We’re grateful for the thoughtfulness Javi brings to his work and proud to support the role he plays in helping families remember in a meaningful way.
