A Few Days in Fort Worth That We Won't Forget

We just got back from the ICCFA Experience 2026 in Fort Worth, and honestly, we're still riding the high.

From April 29 to May 1, funeral professionals from across the country came together in the most fitting setting: the cowboy backdrop of Dallas–Fort Worth, where the energy was warm, the smiles were genuine, and the whole thing just felt like an event made for real connection.

And it delivered.

the team standingOur team made it to Texas after a wave of canceled and delayed flights (thanks to a tornado watch that, apparently, the locals were completely unbothered by). When the team finally arrived, they showed up with incredible attitudes and were ready to make things happen. That's just who we get to work with.

We were welcomed into Fort Worth by one of our favorite clients, Liz Carrillo of Carrillo Funeral Home, who took us through the Stockyards and made sure we found the best Mexican food in town. That kind of warmth set the tone for the whole trip.

And speaking of Liz, when we hit an equipment hiccup with a missing backdrop, she stepped in and saved the day without missing a beat. That's this profession. That's who you are. People who show up for each other.

We filmed over 30 on-the-spot commercials, up from 20 last year.

Funeral directors, in their own words, sharing why they do this work and what their families and communities mean to them. No script. No polish. Just real people saying real things. And that's exactly what makes them so powerful.

The week before ICCFA, we launched #TheFirstCall campaign with a live viewing event in Times Square, and the response from the profession was something we're still processing. Humbling doesn't quite cover it.

So when people walked up to the booth saying "Wait, you're the Times Square people!" it caught us off guard every single time, in the best way. It turned out to be one of the best conversation starters we've ever had. And those conversations went somewhere real: honest discussions about how funeral homes can show up in their communities in a way that truly reflects the care they provide every day.

The engagement didn't stop at the booth either. Social posts started going up almost immediately, ICCFA was resharing content, and people left genuinely excited to get their commercials out into the world. That excitement means everything to us, because the goal was never just to be at the event. It's to keep the conversation going long after.

One thing we do want to call out: our Founder and CEO, Rehan Choudhry, was scheduled to present "Obituaries 2.0: Protecting Your Families, Your Brand, and Your Bottom Line." The travel chaos got in the way, and the session had to be canceled. If you were planning to attend, we are so sorry you missed it. We know your time is valuable and we don't take that lightly. The good news: we're rescheduling as a webinar later this year, so stay tuned for details.

Every conversation at ICCFA came back to the same things: care, community, and showing up the right way. This profession is evolving, but that part never changes.

We left Fort Worth grateful, energized, and more committed than ever to helping funeral professionals share their stories in a way that reflects everything they give to the families they serve.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, or jumped in front of our camera. We can't wait to get your stories out into the world.
